Creative black book
People I’ve worked with. People I know. People I love.
Andrés Hernández
Graphic Designer & Illustrator
I had the pleasure of working with Andrés throughout his two and a half years at Yelp, both as a copy partner and as a creative lead offering feedback. One thing that always struck me while working with is his consistently thoughtful approach.
Concepting from scratch is where his work truly comes to life. His illustrative execution is exceptional, but he also tells a great story that grabs you by the eyeballs and won’t let you go. Andrés will always find some intriguing idea or perspective and he’s a fluid and adaptable partner to bounce ideas off.
Kind, collaborative, positive, patient. He works hard, listens well, and he has the biggest smile. Check out his fine art, too.
Winston Scully
Graphic Designer & Lettering Artist
I love Winston’s passion. Whether collaborating to refine brand guidelines or finessing the ligature details of some custom type event collateral, Winston gives a shit. No matter what creative problem we were solving he was a pleasure to work with because he balances expertise with heart and soul.
Above all, he has a creative vision—something that’s incredibly hard to teach, so it’s precious when it comes naturally. Speaking of teaching, I was often Winston’s student as well. Tune into his live type lessons or DM him to see why caring about type is just as important as caring about color.
Passionate, knowledgeable, talented, and fun. His expertise runs deep and dedication runs wide. He also has a really fun pigeon Instagram.
Dánica Conneely
Creative Director, Art + Design
Within hours of Danica’s first day at Yelp, she and I were thrown into the deep end last minute to concept and deliver an entire 360 OOH campaign. Come 5pm we had three art directions, a tagline to carry the message across channels, and a smorgasbord of logo marks. Need I say more?
Danica adds a human touch to everything she does. She cares equally about the story and message as the art direction and teamwork. Her dedication to human messaging and creative curiosity is what stands out most. Everything goes back to “the why”.
She has a strong creative vision, an eye for consistent branding, and a lifelong love for clear and empathetic messaging—the hallmark of a great Creative Director. She’ll also remind you to eat and buy you juice—the hallmark of a great human.
